Jennifer Zeleznik believes that every client who walks through her door during one of the hardest seasons of their life deserves one thing above all else: an attorney who is fully present. Not an attorney who hands the file to a paralegal and checks in at hearings — but one who listens, who communicates clearly and honestly, and who builds a legal strategy around what that specific client actually needs to walk away with. Jennifer calls it walking beside her clients. In practice, it means her clients are never left guessing where their case stands or what comes next.
After more than a decade of practicing exclusively family law, Jennifer has developed a clear-eyed understanding of what separates cases that settle well from cases that go sideways — and it rarely comes down to the law alone. Divorce and custody disputes are as much about people as they are about statutes, and Jennifer’s ability to read a situation, adapt her approach, and meet opposing parties where they are at has made her an effective negotiator in even the most contentious matters. When negotiation fails, she is equally at home in the courtroom. Jennifer comes prepared to do both, and her clients know it.
In addition to her Juris Doctor, Jennifer holds a Master of Laws in Taxation — a credential that becomes a genuine advantage in cases involving business assets, retirement accounts, investment portfolios, and complex marital estates. When the financial stakes are high, having an attorney who understands the tax consequences of a settlement is not a luxury; it is the difference between a resolution that looks good on paper and one that is actually beneficial.
Jennifer practices across West Michigan. She was born and raised just outside of Chicago, came to Michigan for law school, and never looked back. Outside the office, she enjoys spending time with her family and caring for her dogs and horses.
